Alaina has been growing and learning a lot the past few days and wanted to share some of her major accomplishments.

Miscommunication
Yesterday, Alaina and I had our second appointment with our lactation consultant, Jodi. Alaina got weighed and proved that she was thriving here at home. She was 8 lbs and 5 oz when she was born and tipped the scales at 8 lbs and 15 oz yesterday! Because of this, Jodi told us that Alaina should continue to eat every 3 hours during the day and then we could let her sleep longer and wake herself up at night to eat.
What I heard: The baby can sleep longer than 2 hour stretches with 30 minutes of feeding and 30 minutes of trying to go back to sleep (and I can sleep more, too... woohoo!).
What Alaina heard: I can wake myself up anytime I want during the night to eat... woohoo!
And awake herself she did... every 2 hours! There goes that sleep I was looking forward to. This morning she seems to be sleeping a little longer and she's very happy, so that sleep I wanted doesn't seem so important.

Working Out
Alaina has been staying awake a bit more the past few days (for almost 2 hours at a time!) so Harry and I decided it was time to break-out the workout gym to give her something to do. She seemed to enjoy it for a time... she doesn't know she controls her hands and feet yet so there is only so much she can do.
Harry making sure she's using the equipment properly.
Look out Jane Fonda... Alaina is the NEW workout queen!
Even Joey got in on the gym action (he actually spent the night sleeping in the gym. Harry said that it was really nice of us to get Joey the gym.)
On a side-note, today is the first day Alaina and I are flying solo. She picked out her onesie today to let Harry know that even though he was at work, she was still thinking of him.

Our Curly-Headed Angel
One thing Harry and I are constantly hearing about our little Alaina is how much hair she has. Obviously, she has her Daddy's hair and today after her bath we got some really good pictures of it.

Game Day!
Go CLEMSON Tigers!
Alaina got so excited about the game she got a wicked case of hiccups.
(I'm still learning with the Flip Video Camera... with our digital camera you can take portrait videos but you cannot with the Flip so just tilt your head and the video is perfect!)
I'm not sure what Harry was saying... but Alaina wasn't hearing it!
Go Tigers!

Quality Time with Aunt Laura
Today, another aunt came to visit our little Alaina. She brought a lot of cute clothes and a Flip Video Camera! Below is a picture of her visit and a short video of a sleeping Alaina.
One Week Old!
One week ago, at almost this exact time, Alaina was born. It is currently 3:38 PM and our bundle of joy was born at 3:41. We took a few pictures outside today to celebrate.

Day 6
Tomorrow Alaina will be 1 week old. It doesn't seem possible that 7 days ago she was still inside me. It also doesn't seem possible Harry and I can love someone so much that we have only known 6 days. We have been keeping a busy schedule of eating and going to doctor's appointments. In addition, yesterday Karen and Weston rolled into town to meet Alaina. We had a lot of fun and even got a little sleep despite having 2 babies in the house.

Too Cute!
Baby girl clothes are so adorable. Harry and I love dressing Alaina up every day and finding a receiving blanket that matches the outfit. This is what she wore today and I think it is just too cute!! You be the judge.

4 Days Old!
What an accomplishment... Alaina is now 4 days old. Harry and I actually high-fived yesterday morning because she lived though her first night at home. It's a little scary not having a team of nurses backing you up; luckily my mom and dad were here to lend a hand. Harry's mom and dad came in last night with dinner and talk of the outside world, which helped more than they know! Here are a few pictures we've snapped over the past few days.
