Getting Ready

Harry and I have been working the past few weeks to prepare for our new bundle of joy. We have redone our guest room, began emptying our office (soon to be nursery), cleaned out our garage (yes, I still count this as getting ready for baby), and cleaned out our own closet (yes, I'm still counting it). We also have been researching strollers, car seats, and how to install wainscoting (for our nursery). Finally, we are acquiring baby gear.

This is the first of our baby gear... a diaper bag. Harry bought this the day we found out we were pregnant. Not wanting to be accused of being too into trends or labels (it is a Kate Spade) I'm also posting a picture of the purse I bought to go with this diaper bag; it is a Target original.

Best Friends are the Best!

Joey and Phoebe

Meredith and Harry

Once Upon A Time...

there was an ugly guest room.

It was filled with left-over college furniture and many items the lovely young couple that owned the room didn't want to deal with. One day, the lovely young couple decided they were tired of having an ugly guest room so they began cleaning it out and filling it with new, beautiful furniture. They worked for many weeks until finally, they thought they had created the most beautiful guest room possible.

Now, the lovely young couple are awaiting their first guests to enjoy the beautiful new guest room so they can all live happily ever after.

Yep, More Snow in North Carolina!

For the third weekend in 4 weeks we have snow! This is unheard of in Charlotte, North Carolina. Harry and I are loving how much snow we are getting (and the fact that it waits until Friday night so we don't have to make up canceled school days). Once again, here are snow pictures...

Around 6:00 Friday night, before we left for the Opening Ceremonies Party at Joanne's. The snow was falling in big, beautiful flakes.

Our house at 11:30 when we returned from the Opening Ceremonies Party. You may notice that my car is not in the driveway but tire tracks are... funny story. Harry pulled into the driveway, put on the parking break, and we slid backwards into the street. He tried to park again. Pulled the parking break, and again, we slid back out into the street. At this point we decided to park on the street.

At 11:30 Friday night, it was still snowing but the flakes were much smaller.

Harry and I in the snow (we look tired, don't we?)

Joey is the house cat that tries to escape EVERY time a door opens. When it is snowy, we let him. Joey HATES snow, and it is hilarious!

Our backyard early Saturday morning, the sun is just starting to come up.

Our "table shot" that allows us to judge how much snow we got. I estimate another 2-3 inches fell on Charlotte.

Our front yard with the Jeep on the street where it rested for the night.

Our side street and the "meadow". The street is very icy this morning. Really, really icy.

The view down Bluff Inlet Road.

Our little house, which was warm, so back inside I went.
