Tiny Dancer

Alaina is taking dance lessons through a program that comes to her preschool each Monday. She loves it so far and is actually learning a lot. Every Monday she comes home singing, "flex and point, flex and point" and does her dance stretches. Today, she got her dance outfit, tap shoes and ballet shoes. She looks adorable.

She even rocked a bun this evening!

Homecoming at Clemson

Yesterday, Harry and I took Alaina to her first Clemson football game.  It was also homecoming so it was a great first game.

Mini Clemson Tigers

Clemson won the game against Wake Forest. We were able to stay through the half time show. Tiger Band played a variety of Disney songs (especially from the Little Mermaid to go along with the beach theme). We headed home tired but with some great memories. It was a great day. 

Happy Birthday Laura!

On Friday, Harry's sister Laura turned 25! ;-) We celebrated together this weekend and got some cute pictures to share.

I saw Alaina's first stick people drawing hanging in her class and had to share a picture of it. 

This had to be the best picture ever. In case you can't read the caption, it reads, "My daddy gives me cookies."  Too cute!

This weird looking moth was hanging around our foundation. Harry deemed it a "Storm Trooper" moth. I don't think that's its scientific term, but it works.

 

 Alaina was fascinated with the moth. She "petted" its back and told us it was soft.

This is another little friend that we have hanging around. He visits us every night on the front porch or the front door. Harry's sister, Laura, hates frogs but I think he might make a great birthday present.

If you look back to Alaina's birthday post, you will remember that Alaina got "Kitty Chopsticks." Here she is using them.

She does pretty well... eating pulled pork and rice with chopsticks is pretty tricky (I still can't use chopsticks).

Finally, on Friday Alaina's best friend, Zack, came over for a play date (they look more like brother and sister each time). Alaina sure does miss seeing Zack every day so it was great to get the two of them together.

Alaina Officially Turns Three

On Tuesday, Alaina officially turned three years old. We had a small party here at the house with the three of us (or six if you include Joey, Phoebe, and Fishy... and Alaina would).

Alaina has been asking for Hello Kitty Chopsticks since we ate at Eez, my favorite restaurant. Turns out, they actually make Hello Kitty Training Chopsticks. Harry is showing her how to use her new gift.

Alaina's Third Birthday Party

This past Saturday we celebrated Alaina's third birthday with our family and close friends. We had a wonderful time together. I can't believe how big our little girl has gotten!

Alaina has been wanting a bike for awhile now... she finally got one!

Labor Day Weekend in Wilmington

This past weekend Harry, Alaina, and I packed up and made our last trip to the beach for the summer (don't worry... we will be back in October for another visit with my parents and an oyster roast). We also got to see my brother and his family and my sister and her family (sans Edward, who is currently deployed to Afghanistan). It was great to see everyone and enjoy some sun together.

 

We finally got to meet Violet, my newest niece! She was born July 13 (my parent's anniversary) and we had yet to make our way to visit Karen, Clay, and Weston in Virgina to officially meet her. Alaina loved meeting her!

I'm not so sure Violet enjoyed their time together as much as Alaina did.

Saturday was also the big Clemson - UGA game (go Tigers!) We were all decked out in our Clemson gear to cheer on the Tigers. Alaina got to wear her new Clemson Cheerleader outfit and she looked pretty cute.

On Sunday, Martha, Madison, Luke, and Alex joined us at the beach.

Afterwards we all headed back to my parents house for some dinner and managed to get a pretty good picture of all the cousins.
