Mmmm, Rice Cereal!

This week Alaina tried rice cereal. I wouldn't say it got rave reviews, but she also didn't spit it across the room so Harry and I are chalking this up as a win. 

She's not sure what to think or how to eat this new food.

 Harry's mom and dad were visiting and lent a hand, literally; they helped little Alaina keep her hands off the spoon so it could make it to the target.

Weekend in Wilmington

This past weekend Harry, Alaina, and I headed off to Wilmington to visit with my parents. Here are some pictures of our wonderful weekend. 

We began the visit by opening Christmas presents. Alaina LOVED her gifts. 

Then, we decided to go for a chilly walk on the beach.

4 Month Stats

Today, Alaina had her 4 month check-up. She did a really good job at the doctor's office, even during the shots; the nurse told me she couldn't believe how little Alaina cried. This is how Alaina is measuring up so far...

Height: 25 inches, 

75th percentile

Weight: 16 pounds,  

90th percentile

Head Circumference: 17.5 inches, 

100th percentile

Playing, Playing, and More Playing!

Alaina has really taken an interest in her toys the past few weeks. Today she discovered a new one, her Glow Worm, and spent a long time playing with an old favorite, Sophie the teething giraffe. Enjoy the videos of our little lady having fun!

Snowmageddon 2011

Charlotte continues to be crippled by snow and ice; I'd like to blame Michael Bloomberg but I'm not sure it's his fault (but hey, it's working for other people). We still have yet to see a snow plow, salt truck, or guy with a shovel attempt to clear off our street so Alaina and I have been camped out in the house for the past two days; Harry braved the roads and headed into work for awhile today.

Tomorrow school is still canceled but teachers are supposed to report to work on a 2 hour delay. I guess I will have to leave the confines of the house, as will Alaina, to brave the winter weather.

4 Months Old!

Today, our little lady turns 4 months old. I can't believe how much she has grown.

Once Alaina was on her tummy she didn't know what to do with herself, so she rolled back over and started playing again. 

Current Likes:

playing with anything... especially her Grab Apple, elephant Ella, her gym, or her spinny toy

playing with Emma (daughter of her nanny)

Current Dislikes:

taking medicine

She is such a happy baby and we are so lucky to have her. 

Happy 4 Month Birthday, Alaina!

Snow Day!!!!

Today school was canceled due to lots and lots of snow; for real canceled, the teachers didn't have to work either! Harry decided to work from home today so the three of us were able to enjoy the snow together. 

The Exersaucer

Alaina enjoyed a lazy morning at home today playing with all sorts of toys. One of them being the exersaucer. She was really going at it until I took out the video camera; which is they way it always goes. She's still pretty cute even if she isn't playing real hard.

So Sleepy

I started back to work this week (boo!) and really it has been a pretty good week. My class is really sweet and we are falling back into the routine pretty well.

Since I'm up for the sunrise every morning, as is Harry and Alaina, we have all been pretty sleepy this week (hence the lack of posts).  This was the sunrise yesterday on my way to school... it was SO beautiful!

 

You know you're sleepy when you can't even finish your dinner.
