Winning Weekend

This past weekend Harry, Alaina, and I traveled to Fayetteville to visit my sister and her family and so Harry could compete in the Pinehurst International Triathalon. Harry made the 45 minute trip to Pinehurst early Sarurday morning and finished his triathalon in 3 hours and 23 minutes. It was his first triathalon wearing his wetsuit and it went really well. Only 3 more weeks till his half Ironman! 

While Harry was racing, Alaina and I watched Madison, Luke, and Alex play soccer. All 3 won their soccer games (apparently Alaina and I are good luck). We spent the rest of the afternoon watching Clemson beat NC State! Wheat a great weekend. 

Cane Creek Sprint Triathalon

Yesterday, Harry participated in the Jimmy Johnson Foundation Cane Creek Sprint Triathalon. The whole event took place in Waxhaw after work. It was delayed due to rain, but luckily they were able to complete all three disciplines (swim, bike, and run).

Boating Weekend with the Jones'

This past weekend, we headed over to Fayetteville to spend some time with my sister and her family and live-up the last weekend of the summer on their boat (yes, I return to school tomorrow, sob!). We had such a great time together.

Alaina loved all aspects of the weekend, especially tubing! When she got in the tube she looked so tiny and she laid down like she was going to go to sleep.

The kids also spent a lot of time swimming. These 2 girls love spending time together.

The kids really enjoyed swimming to the shore and collecting rocks to throw off the boat.

Madison rode home from boating with us and entertained Alaina in the back seat by playing games and reading to her.

Photo Shoot

Today, Alaina and I had a little photo shoot. The pictures turned out great! These 2 are my favorite!

Zucchini Bread

Today, Alaina and I used one of the giant zucchinis from our garden to make zucchini bread. I've never made it before and found a great recipe online.

Build and Grow

Yesterday, I took Alaina to a Lowe's Build and Grow event. This is the second one she has been to and she absolutely loves it! We built a Turbo racing snail yesterday.  She did a great job. 

When she was finished, she asked if she could sleep with snail.   :-)

4th of July Beach Weekend

Harry, Alaina, and I spent the Fourth of July Weekend in Wilmington with my parents, brother, sister-in-law, niece and nephew. We did have a little hurricane delay our trip, but once we got there we had a great time and went to the beach every day!

Day 1:

Day 2:

Day 3:

Violet was very excited about going into the water. She crawled in without any hesitation.

Alaina also has no hesitations about going into the water... hurricane or not.

The beach makes you pretty tired, so it's nice to take a nap with your dad.

Day 4:

We weren't able to go to the beach the last day since we were driving home, so we took Alaina to lunch at our favorite restaurant in Southport... Provisions. We had a great lunch and enjoyed the little beach just outside.

Pool Day!

I was preparing to post about our past weekend and found this entry from June that never loaded. Sorry to all my readers that I've been slacking on posting... I'll do better from now on. 

Our pool opened a few weeks ago so we decided to pay it a visit. We had such a great time and Alaina even went down the giant water slide all by herself!

Harry and Alaina also went for a slide in the splash area. The water was cold, but they didn't care. 

Alaina's Dance Recital

Today, Alaina had her end-of-year dance recital. Her class has 5 little girls in it; ranging from 3-5 years old. The girls were so cute and did a great job! 

The girls did some stretches before starting (one little girl is just out of the shot, she was too shy to participate in the recital.)
